It's Christmas in Welford and at Mandy's school, new boy Oliver Morgan has come up with a great idea. He's going to set up a 'hamster holiday camp' for all those whose owners are going away for Christmas. Mandy and James muck in too, and it looks as though Oliver's parents loft conversion will be the hamsters' holiday home. Everything's working out brilliantly! Oliver has nine hamsters to start with, but when one of them gives birth, that makes five more baby hamsters, too. They're cute, but quite a handful. Then disaster strikes, the roof of the loft is leaking, and the hamsters all need rehousing straight away! Poor Oliver feels terrible. What will he do? Then Mandy has a brainwave. There's one group of people who won't be going anywhere at Christmas - the church choir! But will they be willing to hamster-sit for a few days?

On a short break in Scotland, Mandy and James visit the local wildlife park to see the star attractions - two young wolves. The wolves are beautiful, but some of the locals are so terrified that they will escape, they've set dangerous traps. Meanwhile, a strange animal keeps appearing to Mandy. What is it and what does it want? It looks like a wolf, but it can't be! can it?

Animals aways come first for Mandy, and at Animal Ark - her parents' veterinary surgery - she is always making new friends. PUP AT THE PALACE On a visit to Buckingham Palace, Mandy spots a Labrador puppy, and then sees him again all over London. Who does the puppy belong to? DOG AT THE DOOR Mandy finds a pregnant Golden Retriever tied up outside Animal Ark, but no sign of her owner. Who could be responsible?
